About the Program
Law Enforcement is a one year program that is recommended for students interested in a law enforcement career or planning to enter the military. About the Instructor
  • Instructor at ROC since 2014.
  • California teaching credential in CTE Public Services.
  • AA, Administration of Justice, Bakersfield College.
  • BS, Organizational Management, University of LaVerne.
  • Served country in United States Marine Corps, 1979 – 1984.
  • Bakersfield Police Department, 1986 – 2011 (Retired).
  • Experience as a patrol officer, street narcotics officer, DARE, traffic, training officer, reserve coordinator, SWAT officer.
  • Served as BPD detective, 2003 – 2011, working general investigations, robbery, homicide, and burglary details.
  • Certified Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) by California Highway Patrol.
  • California Narcotics Officers Association (CNOA) Life Member.
  • Completed instructor-level courses in rifle, pistol, and shotgun.
  • NRA instructor in rifle and shotgun.  Certified Range Safety Officer (RSO).
  • Founding Board Member, Bakersfield Police Activities League (BPAL).
  • Board Member, Camp Hamilton Veterans Memorial Park.
  • Boy Scouts of America merit badge counselor for shooting sports.
  • Active volunteer in Devil Pups community youth leadership program.
  • Enjoys all outdoor activities, scuba diving, working out, and spending time with wife and two children.
