Fog Delay Info
Students riding the bus on the following routes…
1. When the Kern High School District calls a district-wide fog delay …
- AM buses will not run. An abbreviated AM session will be held from 9:30am to 10:30am for students with their own transportation. If you can safely arrive on campus at that time, you may attend; however, buses WILL NOT return you to your home campus at 10:30am -- you will need to rely on your own transportation source.
- If you cannot safely arrive, your absence will be cleared with a “W” (see below).
2. When the Kern High School District does NOT call a fog delay,
- but Arvin High School does, ROC bus route #94 from Arvin/Lamont (A.M.) is canceled. If AHS students cannot safely arrive, their absence will be cleared with a “W” (see below).
- but Rosedale School District does, ROC bus route #97 (A.M.) Liberty School only will be canceled and route #405 (A.M.) Frontier High School only will be canceled. If these students cannot safely arrive, their absence will be cleared with a "W" (see below).
- but Shafter High School does, ROC bus route #405 from Shafter is canceled. If Shafter High students cannot safely arrive, their absence will be cleared with a “W” (see below).
- but Lakeside School District does, ROC bus route #95 (A.M.) from Independence School only will be canceled. If IHS students cannot safely arrive, their absence will be cleared with a “W” (see below).
3. Fog delays do NOT affect afternoon classes. Buses run at regular times and class is held from 11:45am to 2:45pm. Similarly, evening classes are not affected by fog delays.

Attendance Information for Fog Delays
When a student is unable to attend classes at ROC as a result of a fog delay, their absences will be cleared with a “W” which stands for Warranted. This does not affect the ROC monthly Perfect Attendance awards, senior graduation requirements or appear as a part of any truancy reports
