Video Production

Program Description

Learn all aspects of visual media production including film, news, corporate event production, commercials, public service announcements and documentaries while using industry standard cameras, tripods, drones, and editing software. 


Student professionals will work with clients within the community to produce various projects while developing skills in videography, editing, lighting, and audio production. Classes tour local news and production studios for hands-on career exploration opportunities and learn from industry professional guest speakers visiting the classroom.

Video Production students should have a basic working knowledge of computers/Google, and average or better skills in reading, writing, and verbal communication.


Students earn 15 units of elective credits toward their high school graduation. Meets area ā€œGā€ approval for UC admissions.



This is a career awareness class which instructs students on the basics necessary for entry-level employment. Successful Video Production students often pursue careers in the following:

  • Business Owner/Entrepreneur
  • Makeup/Costume Designer
  • Audio/Lighting Engineer
