Program Description
Supply chain logistics is a rapidly growing industry in the greater Bakersfield area. With our proximity to I-5 and the ports in Los Angeles and Long Beach, Kern County is quickly becoming home to numerous distribution centers that offer employees many opportunities to move up the career ladder.
The Logistics & Distribution program provides students with the essential knowledge, skills, and experiences related to career opportunities in warehousing, distribution, logistics, and transportation. Students will learn and work in authentic environments using industry-standard equipment and procedures, as well as have opportunities to obtain information through a variety of work-based learning opportunities. Students will run a 10,000-square-foot training warehouse that will allow them to learn all aspects of the industry in a realistic working environment.
CREDIT AVAILABLE:
Meets area “G” approval for UC and CSU admissions.
10 high school elective credits per semester
