Construction Trades
Program Description
Learn the skills to build a house from the ground up in this one-year program! Develop hands-on skills in various commercial and residential construction disciplines, including electrical wiring, plumbing, framing, roofing, drywall, finish work, and construction management. You will also gain an understanding of safety, the use of hand and power tools, blueprint reading, estimating, and construction industry operations. Industry-driven curriculum and our state-of-the-art on-campus shop will help prepare you for employment, an apprenticeship training program, community college or a four-year degree institution. Additionally, high performers will be selected to compete in statewide building competitions. Most importantly, you will be exposed to personal growth that will set you apart in today’s job market.

Certifications Available:
- Construction Trades Certificate of Completion
- OSHA 10
- S/P2
- First Aid/CPR Certification
- S/P2 Safety Certifications
Things to Consider:
- Dress code is closed toes shoes preferably work boots/thick sole and jeans/canvas style pants.
- If you prefer to avoid working and are easily distracted by electronic devices (i.e. cell phones), this class is probably not for you. This class has a no cell phone policy.

Meets area "G" approval for UC and CSU admissions
15 high school elective credits per semester
