Program Description

The Baking and Pastry Arts program is the perfect experience to learn the essentials of a sweet career in a real-world setting. A good pastry chef not only knows how to make a good product but understands the science behind the method. The Baking and Pastry Arts program is an intensive hands-on class that focuses on fundamentals and prepares you to put everything you have learned into practice in the popular ROC Café and Bakery. Students will work on production weekly to fulfill orders for bakery business. As part of daily bakery operations, you'll create delicious baked goods and confections for our appreciative customers. This course also includes instruction in food safety principles, regulatory standards and measures required to prevent foodborne illness.

Credit Available:

Meets area "G" approval for UC and CSU admissions.
