Veterinary Technology Students Shine at Kern County Mega Adoption Event

This weekend, ROC’s Veterinary Technology students proudly represented the school at the Kern County Animal Services Mega Adoption Event. Students hosted a creative booth where they sold handmade pins, stickers, bandanas, and bows, raising funds to support their program while engaging with the local community.

Beyond fundraising, students encouraged event attendees to adopt pets, shared energy and smiles throughout the day, and connected with local animal care organizations. Their participation provided a hands-on opportunity to practice communication, customer service, and community outreach—essential skills for future careers in veterinary care and animal services.

The event also celebrated the many pets who found their forever homes, allowing students to experience the meaningful impact of their work in real time. By combining fundraising, advocacy, and community engagement, ROC Veterinary Technology students demonstrated the professionalism, compassion, and teamwork that are central to their program.

This experience not only supported a worthy cause but also gave students practical skills and memorable real-world learning, reinforcing ROC’s commitment to preparing students for successful careers while making a positive difference in the community.
