ROC CTEC is proud to highlight the work of its Digital Marketing & Media Design students who recently provided professional event coverage for the B3K Prosperity: Unbound Kern Capital Summit, held at the historic Padre Hotel in downtown Bakersfield.
Students Annabelle, Gabrielle, Taylor, and Jacob worked together as a coordinated media team, capturing high-quality photography, behind-the-scenes video footage, and on-site interviews throughout the day. Their coverage documented keynote speakers, panel discussions, networking moments, and the overall energy of a summit focused on economic growth, innovation, and opportunity within Kern County.
This hands-on experience allowed students to apply classroom knowledge in a real-world setting, mirroring the expectations and pace of a professional media production environment. From managing equipment and shot lists to collaborating under tight timelines, students gained valuable insight into what it takes to successfully cover a large-scale business and community event.
Opportunities like the Kern Capital Summit give ROC CTEC students meaningful exposure to industry standards while allowing them to contribute to important community conversations. Through experiences like this, students continue to build confidence, technical skills, and professionalism that prepare them for future careers in digital marketing, media production, and creative industries.
