Distance learning has created new and exciting opportunities for Video Production students at the Career Technical Education Center (CTEC). Instructor Lisa Krch was looking for ways to engage her online learners while expanding on the mission of career exploration. She developed a special “Meet the Expert” series, where professionals from her Advisory Board and other community and industry partners volunteered their time visiting with students over Zoom or, once in-class instruction reopened, in person.
Ms. Krch and the entire ROC/CTEC team wishes to thank these indispensable partners:
Dutch Marich, Founder of Luminol Entertainment, Hollywood
Misha Tenenbaum, Founder & CEO of Editstock.com and EditMentor.com
Lynda Halligan, Broadcast News Veteran & Screenwriter
Jeff Lemucchi, Broadcast News Veteran & Founder of JL Voiceovers
Erubiel Monterrosa, Founder of Bako Media (Former student)
Sylvia Cariker (Casey McBride), KUZZ Radio
David Chavez, Marketing & Promotions, Kern County Film Commission
Victoria Valencia & Javier Valdes, Photography, Design, & Editing, Kern High Network
Ely Film Festival Organizing Committee
Robin Holabird, Travel and Cinema Writer & Movie Reviewer
Aaryck Enriquez, Marketing Manager & Content Creator, Urner’s
Some industry professionals also provided virtual field trips for students...
Alex Fisher, KGET Channel 17
Brent Michaels, KUZZ Radio
The “Meet the Expert” series offered students an incredible opportunity to speak with and learn from arts, media, and entertainment industry experts while honing their own skills in video production, content creation, and filmmaking.
Thank you all for making our year of distance learning an impactful and meaningful experience for our students (and, hopefully, your future staff members).
