ROC Seeking Community Voluteers

CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS!!!!!!!

For the past eight years, the ROC has competed in the Student Leadership Organization, SkillsUSA. Each year, regional conferences are held throughout the nation, giving Career Technical Education (CTE) students a chance to come together to network, build relationships, and demonstrate the technical and leadership skills they have been learning.

This year, for the first time, the Kern High - ROC has been selected to host the SkillsUSA California Region 2 Conference. On February 22, 1600 students from throughout Central California will descend upon our campus to participate in the conference and to showcase their skills in over 100 different contests, 300 of those students being our own Kern High students.

We are seeking YOUR help and that of your friends, colleagues, and acquaintances!

In order for the Conference to be a success, community-minded professionals are being sought to volunteer as judges and event volunteers.   As a judge, you will have the opportunity to see some incredible young people showcase the skills they have been learning as part of their CTE programs.  You will be amazed in the skills and abilities these young people bring as they perform, present, and showcase their career readiness through competition.  We will guide you through the judging process, so no need to worry about that.

Click here for our Volunteer Flyer -- please also consider printing and sharing it with others as well.

The Online Volunteer Form (Volunteer Form Info Link) can be used, allowing you to choose which of the over 100 different contests you would like to judge.

If you have questions, there are a few ways to get them answered:

1)      Fill out the Online Form (Volunteer Form Info Link) and someone from the ROC will contact you about the competition you have selected.

2)      Call the ROC at 661-831-3327 and let the receptionist know you are seeking for more information about Volunteering for the SkillsUSA Conference.  They will either connect you to one of the Leadership Members or take your contact information and we will contact you.

Thank you in advance for volunteering.  Great things cannot happen without great people!
