Program Description

CTEC is proud to be an authorized training facility for the Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA A+ Certification). Recognized as the premier qualification for IT operational roles, CompTIA A+ certification validates essential technical support skills. Our Computer Technologies program offers a comprehensive, one-year course designed to equip students with entry-level IT skills. The curriculum emphasizes computer maintenance, diagnostics, repair, and introductory networking skills. In the second semester, eligible students have the opportunity to participate in Community Classroom, a 12-week internship program. This hands-on experience provides students with real-world insights and helps them develop valuable soft skills that are essential in the workplace.

The course is delivered through CompTIA's TestOut Curriculum. Instruction is provided for computer hardware, operating systems and peripherals, networking essentials, mobile devices, basic test equipment, diagnostic methods, and electronic fundamentals necessary to understand and service basic computer systems.
