Program Description

Prepare for a dynamic career in today’s fast-paced office environments through our Administrative Office Assistant Program. This course equips students with the essential skills required to thrive in professional settings, including office management, document preparation, scheduling, customer service, and effective communication.
 
This highly interactive program emphasizes real-world applications and hands-on projects to ensure students build confidence and competence. In addition to mastering traditional administrative tools and practices, students will also explore cutting-edge developments in workplace technology. New this year, the course includes foundational training in artificial intelligence (AI)—helping students learn how to streamline tasks, improve efficiency, and leverage AI tools that are increasingly shaping the modern office.
 
Whether you’re entering the workforce or building your skillset for advancement, this course offers a future-focused foundation for success.

 

Credit Available:

Meets area “G” approval for UC and CSU admissions.

BSAD B66abc – Computer Keyboarding Part 1, 2, & 3 (1 unit each class)

BSAD B64 – Ten Key (.5 unit)

BSAD B88 – Office Procedures (3 units)

COMP B5 – Introduction to Microsoft Office (3 units)

Things to Consider

Office Technology students should have average or better math and English skills and solid attendance. The program dress code is Business Casual/Business Professional and/or Specified Uniform. Nails can be no longer than 2mm. Facial piercings and dangling jewelry must be removed.  For students assigned to internships at medical offices, proof of a current negative TB Skin Test and current Immunization record are also required.
