Program Description
The Automotive Technology program instills the mind-set and skill set that you need to become a successful professional Automotive Technician. Students will receive instruction on shop safety, engine repair, light maintenance, diagnostics and troubleshooting, industry standards, brakes, automatic trans/transaxle, manual drivetrain and axles, engine performance, heating and air conditioning, electricity and electronic systems, and related automobile operational theory. ROC’s Auto Technology teaches to ASE’s Automotive Service Technician standards and is designed to meet the standards set by the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) and offers certifications in both Ford ACE and Honda PACT.

Auto Technology students should have average or better skills in math, reading comprehension and writing. Students should also have a solid attendance record.
