This exciting course highlights the basic concepts of computer-aided drafting (CAD) techniques while utilizing the most up-to-date CAD software. Students will first learn how to draw set-ups, geometric shapes, objects, text apps, and do surface-level dimensioning. From there, they will advance to parametric (3D) modeling using CAD software, exploring more challenging designs and drawing techniques. Finally, the course will conclude with an introduction to architectural drafting, utilizing industry-recognized architectural drafting software. The basis of this core is to give the student a sampling of different software, design specialties, and career pathways in which to focus their future careers and courses of study.
