Drone Operator & Entrepreneurship
Program Description
The drone industry continues to build momentum and shows no signs of slowing down. With hundreds of thousands of professional drone pilots in the US, the industry is now as thriving as ever and grows steadily in terms of both diversity and volume. The growth of the job market has made a career as a professional drone pilot a fairly attractive prospect for many people.
Students will learn how to safely operate a variety of drones and have the opportunity to sit for their Part 107 exam through the FAA. Students will learn how to do photography, video, and data analysis using drones. They will learn how to develop a business around being a drone pilot and have opportunities to put those skills into practice through work based learning opportunities. Students will also participate in career exploration activities within the aerospace and aviation industries.

PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATION OPPORTUNITIES
- Students will have the opportunity to take the Part 107 FAA Exam
HIGH SCHOOL CREDIT AVAILABLE
Students earn 15 units of elective credit each semester toward their high school graduation.
