The best scholarship search platforms

There are plenty of online scholarship services available at no-cost. Be careful of those who wish to charge you to find free money for college. Know however that free services need operating income as well and that comes in the form of advertisements.

We suggest creating a new email address to be used exclusively for your online scholarship search. Check it frequently. That way you will have all your information and correspondence in one place, plus it will be easier to sift through advertisements which may or may not be of interest to you.

We'll start with Honest Product Reviews. They have reached out to us and asked us to share their website. On it, you will see that they not only provide links to various sites, but they discuss the criteria they use in selecting these sites and provide valuable information for you to consider.

Colleges also have scholarships exclusive to their campus. Work with your school's financial aid department to unearth these opportunities. For example, here are links to scholarship information exclusive to Bakersfield College and CSU Bakersfield.

Unlike loans, scholarships are a wonderful way to help pay for college as they do not need to be paid back. Likewise, state and federal grants do not need to be repaid. To qualify for these grants, be sure to complete the Free Application for Federal Aid at www.fafsa.ed.gov. Everyone, regardless of income level, should complete a FAFSA as many scholarships also require it.
