ROC Ambassadors (PM session photo to the left) welcomed students as they disembarked from their buses and filed into the Kern Ag Pavilion. Spread over four sessions and two days, the 1200 students from all area KHSD high schools first heard testimonials from current ROC students on the transformational effect ROC has had on their lives.
Students were then dismissed to the Ag Pavilion patio where each of ROC's current 27 programs had a booth staffed by current students. Each table featured equipment and materials used within the program, as well as projects created by the students.
By interacting with current students, future students gained true a perspective on the ROC opportunities available to them as well as the level of commitment required to succeed in this 540-hour, year-long program.
As for the new "I Can..." marketing campaign, ROC and its students are getting the message out that they are learning real and marketable skills. From nursing students who "can save a life" to Small Business Entrepreneurs who "can start my own business." Stay tuned for more on this exciting campaign.
The ROC Application period remains open to current high school sophomores and juniors through March 9. Apply here.
