Our training started off with Alex Bernal and Jim, his assistant, both from Westec giving the class permission slips. After filling out all of our information needed and we started watching our video followed along with the book. Over the course of two days we learned how to give CPR, how to do the Heimlich Maneuver. We also learned how to handle situations and work the AED defibrillator as well as what to do in high-stress situations that include being impaled, losing large amounts of blood, and learning how to direct and be a leader when the time calls for it.
During the CPR, we sanitized our dummies followed by 30 compressions and 2 breaths. Afterwards we did an evaluation and to become certified. All of the students loved the class and are now prepared for situations that may occur!
