The vibrant sounds of a folclórico dancers from Golden Valley High School and Arvin High School's mariachi band filled the air at the CTEC campus this past week, captivating students and staff in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month. Organized by CTEC's RCT Mrs. Solano, to foster cultural appreciation and community spirit, the event brought students together in a joyful and engaging way.
The lively performances featured traditional folclórico dancers in the AM session and mariachi music, with musicians dressed in colorful attire in the PM session. Students gathered in the courtyard, tapping their feet and clapping along to the infectious rhythms. The event not only highlighted the rich cultural heritage of Latin America but also created a festive atmosphere for everyone in attendance.
“I loved how the music brought everyone together,” shared Maria, a student at CTEC. “It’s a beautiful way to celebrate diversity.”
This successful event is part of CTEC’s ongoing efforts to promote cultural inclusivity on campus. With a turnout that exceeded expectations, the Mariachi performance is set to become an annual highlight in the CTEC calendar.
