In addition to those who attended on Zoom, 18 students in the ROC Small Business Entrepreneurship program recently found their way to the CSU Bakersfield campus on a Friday evening to hear a presentation sponsored by the CSUB Entrepreneurship Club.
Dr. David Olson, professor of management and one-time professional tightrope walker, spoke on the similarities between opening one's own business and stepping out on the wire.
Students even tried their hand (well, really their feet) at walking on a (grounded) rope ("feel the pain") as Professor Olson spoke of "testing the wire" (do your research) and "using the pole" (get help) and "taking a bow" (celebrate your accomplishments).
Thank you to ROC/CTEC Entrepreneurship Resource Center assistant Angel Almendarez for helping facilitate the connection and to the CSUB Entrepreneurship Club for their continued support and consistent encouragement of our students.
