WWII Veterans Memorial Video Project

Video Production students at CTEC have taken on a special project this year, that combines the past, present, and future. Students are working with the organization planning and fundraising for the World War II Veterans Memorial project in Bakersfield. They are shooting interviews with veterans, board members, the project sculptor, and city officials, and creating several different videos. The videos will promote the project on social media, and be used on the organization's website for educational purposes. Pieces will focus on the connection between Kern County and efforts to fight in World War II, the local connection to the sculptor creating the centerpiece of the monument, the accomplishments of our veterans, and the promotion of various fundraising efforts.

“The Kern County WWII Veterans Memorial Committee, WWII Veterans & community supporters have had an amazing experience working with Miss Krch's Video Production class,” said Wendy Ward, Vice President of the WWII Veterans Memorial Committee.  “Every time I talk to someone who has been a part of this project they are very pleased with the students' professionalism, knowledge and dedication. Those involved walk away from the interviews, Zooms, voiceovers or discussions delighted by the students and to be a part of this with them. Personally, I have enjoyed working with them immensely. These students have shown us that in their hands our future is bright. Also, as a counselor for the Kern High School District, I am VERY proud of them and this program. It is evident that Ms. Krch is dedicated to passing along her extensive expertise to these students. Thank you to each and every one of them for being open to this collaborative project with us. We truly do appreciate these students and we are so grateful. These young men and women have become a part of forever preserving Kern County's WWII history.”
