CAN YOU NETWORK EVENT
Career readiness skills are the cornerstone of all programs at ROC/CTEC. These skills are what will allow our students to be competitive in the workforce and are emphasized throughout the school year. During the month of September, we kicked off the school year with our annual “Can you network?” event that teaches students the importance of making a good impression.
Our four Career Techs took the lead on putting the event together. Students from multiple classes gathered together for a workshop that taught them the importance of professional dress, making good eye contact, oral communication, and many other important skills that go into making a good first impression when meeting new people. After the workshop students put these skills into practice while they had to network with students from different programs.
The students did an excellent job demonstrating these skills throughout the event. They dressed to impress and actively participated in developing these important skills. They are well on their way to their future career and college success!
