Dayane Rios, West High School.
Dayane took ROC’s Veterinary Technician program, earning her Certificate of Completion. She will be taking her Certified Veterinary Assistant test in the summer of 2019. Her plan is to attend Cal Poly Pomona to obtain her Bachelors of Science in Animal Science. After her degree is completed, she would like to go to Vet School to become a Veterinarian.
Anthony Bacon, Frontier High School.
Anthony was part of the Sports Medicine program at ROC. He has received a Certificate of Completion and has been certified in CPR during his time at ROC. Anthony will be attending CSUB in the fall to obtain a Bachelor’s of Science in Kinesiology. After he graduates, he would like to go to Graduate school to become a Licensed Physical Therapist.
Christina Nelson, Centennial High School.
Christina completed ROC’s Dental Assistant program and earned a Certificate of Completion. During her time at ROC, she became certified in CPR, 8 Hour Infection Control, Radiology, and HIPAA. She will be continuing her education at Taft College to complete the Dental Hygienist program and later wants to open her own practice as a Dentist.
Madison Pinheiro, Centennial High School.
Madison took ROC’s Medical Assistant program and received a Certificate of Completion. During her time at ROC, she became certified CPR and Injections and has the opportunity to sit for the Certified Medical Assistant or Registered Medical Assistant exams. She will be continuing her education in Nursing at Bakersfield College. Madison is interested in joining the Air Force as a Medic and later wants to become a Pediatric Surgeon. Her dream is to be a Surgeon at John Hopkins Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland.
Erica Risi, Liberty High School.
Erica completed the Video Production program at ROC and received a Certificate of Completion. She will continue her education at Bakersfield College with a major in English and a minor in linguistics. Her goal is to transfer to a University and to eventually earn her PhD and become a Professor in either English, Italian, or Spanish.
Sheri Sheppard, Liberty High School.
Sheri completed the Nursing Assistant program and received a Certificate of Completion. Additionally, she has become certified in CPR and has the opportunity to sit for the California State Certified Nursing Assistant Certification. Her plan is to continue her education at Bakersfield College in its Nursing program. Her dream is to work at a Trauma Center and to eventually get her Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
