This one-year program will prepare students interested in pursuing a career in mobile application development and design. Students are challenged to develop and design apps using computer software in multiple formats for an end result in a mobile application. They will also learn the skills necessary to communicate clearly, cooperate within teams, solve logistical problems and present findings. Students will also consider the entrepreneurial aspects of bringing a new product to market.
This will include the distribution, promotion, and pricing of apps, as well as developing marketing strategies. In this program students will be introduced to embedded technology concepts through a combination of classroom lecture and project-based learning. Students will also have the chance to participate in competitions, tech startup events and attend field trips related to mobile app development.
Students earn 15 general elective units each semester toward their high school graduation.
