Program Description

The Mobile App Development program will prepare students interested in pursuing a career in app development, UI/UX design, graphic design, and tech startups. Students are challenged to develop and design apps using computer software in multiple formats for an end result in a mobile application. The course will cover: Xcode, Swift, React Native, JavaScript, CSS, HTML, and Bootstrap. Students will learn the skills necessary to communicate clearly, cooperate within teams, solve logistical problems and turn ideas from concept to prototype and finalized product.

Students will also consider the entrepreneurial aspects of bringing a new product to market using the startup mindset. This will include website development, the distribution and promotion of apps, as well as developing marketing strategies. In this program students will be introduced to embedded technology concepts through a combination of classroom lecture, project-based learning and internship opportunities. This program will give students a chance to participate in competitions, tech startup events, and attend field trips related to the program.
