About the Program
Medical Assistant is a one year program that ithat teaches students medical the medical terminology and skills, ethics, and communication skills necessary for entry-level employment in doctors' offices and clinics. About the Instructor
  • Instructor at ROC since 1995.
  • California teaching credential in CTE Health Science and Medical Technology.
  • Associate of Science Degree in Nursing (ADN), Bakersfield College.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), CSU Dominguez Hills.
  • Certificates in Public Health Nursing and Director of Staff Development.
  • Registered Nurse since 1985.
  • Private sector experience includes direct patient care in acute care, med surg nursing and discharge planning.
  • Additional experience in home health and hospice (direct patient care, ICD9 coding and billing and staff management as Director of Professional Services).
  • Completes regular and on-going training and continuing education courses as required by State of California’s Board of Registered Nursing.
  • ROC’s Jim Burke Education Foundation Teacher of the Year nominee, 2014.
