Evening Medical Assistant

Fee: No cost to high school seniors; $1,800 for adults.

 

Program Exception: This program is only open to high school seniors and adults. Juniors may instead take the Introduction to Health Care program.

 

Medical AsstThe Medical Assistant course is a one-year program designed to teach students medical terminology, ethics, and the communication skills necessary to be successful employees in doctors’ offices and clinics. After initial classroom training, students also serve an internship at local medical offices. Certification opportunities are available in this program. See program page for details.

 

About the Teacher:

Ana Vinciprova, LVN was born in Brazil from a family of Italian immigrants. She obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition in 2002 and moved to the US to continue her education in the health field. She earned her Certified Nursing Assistant certification in 2004 and then moved into Vocational Nursing training. Ms. Vinciprova has been a Licensed Vocational Nurse since 2005 for a Mental Health Clinic/ Residential Treatment Center in Bakersfield. Here she works with many medical providers, hospitals and county agencies as a healthcare team in an effort to maintain the safety and physical health of more than 50 patients daily.
